We all Fall Down

A woman relives past traumas—bullying and sexual violence—confronting a judicial system incapable of healing or protecting. We All Fall Down tells the story of Viola, a woman marked by a brutal episode of bullying experienced as a child and sexual violence suffered in adulthood. The narrative moves fluidly between past and present: Viola as a child, humiliated and attacked by a group of peers; Viola as an adult, recounting her recent assault to Alberto, a police commissioner who wants to help her but finds himself powerless in the face of a broken system. Blending raw realism with dreamlike and memory sequences, the film uses symbolic language to explore pain, memory, and the persistent culture of oppression. At the heart of We All Fall Down is a reflection on the limits of justice and the impossibility of fully overcoming trauma. Yet, among the shadows, there remains space for a fragile and suspended hope.
